PUBG: Battlegrounds will officially is going free in January
One of the earliest popular game genres, battle royale the PUBG, will be a game that is free to play in the coming year. In The Game Awards tonight, Krafton announced that PUBG will be transforming to a free-to-play mode on the 12th of January 2022. This change will be applicable to the console and PC versions of PUBG.
Since PUBG began its launch in 2017 it’s been a paid-for game and is currently available for just $30. However, that’s going to change next year, when PUBG will adopt a free-to-play business model that will put it in the same category as other popular battle royale titles such as Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone and many more. A few of the features in PUBG like Ranked mode are going to require users to purchase the game, or purchase a brand new game known as Battlegrounds Plus.
